PREMIERE: MARKEIDRIC WALKER .... ME, MYSELF & I: A Mastery of Self Discipline

Markeidric Walker is an Atlanta-born painter whose work bridges classical traditions with contemporary subjects. Introduced to the values of discipline through sports and to art through early private training with painter Phillis Bostar, Walker studied the masters from da Vinci and Rembrandt to Monet and Cézanne before pursuing formal education at the Savannah College of Art and Design. His practice reinterprets landscapes, portraits, and interiors through rigorous paint application, positioning classical techniques in dialogue with modern concepts. Recognized as one of the emerging Postmodern Neo-Classical artists of his generation, Walker brings a distinct voice to a lineage that has historically excluded Black perspectives, transforming tradition into a platform for the complexities of the present.
